System requirements

What you need to run ARAMO

ARAMO is a Windows desktop application. It is built and tested on modest hardware, and uses a graphics encoder when you have one.

Minimum and recommended

Operating systemWindows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit
No macOS or Linux version.
Memory8 GB RAM minimum
16 GB is comfortable for long sources and 4K exports.
ProcessorAny modern 64-bit CPU
ARAMO is developed and tested on a 2011 quad-core laptop with integrated graphics. More cores render faster.
GraphicsNot required
An NVIDIA (NVENC) or Intel Quick Sync encoder is used automatically when one is present, and speeds up rendering.
StorageAbout 6 GB free per project
Downloading from a link needs roughly 2.5× the video's size, plus 1 GB, free while it works.
FFmpegRequired
Installed with one command: winget install Gyan.FFmpeg. The setup guide walks you through it.
InternetFor sign-in, check-ins, links and publishing
Analysis, editing and rendering work offline. The licence stays valid for up to 365 days between check-ins.
Screen1366 × 768 or larger
The window fits a 1366 × 768 laptop screen with every option reachable.
LanguagesEnglish, Arabic, Kurdish Sorani, Persian
Switch the interface language in Settings.

What affects speed

  • Source length. ARAMO watches the whole video, so a two-hour source takes longer to analyse than a ten-minute one.
  • Export resolution. 4K is roughly four times the work of 1080p.
  • A graphics encoder. NVIDIA NVENC or Intel Quick Sync, when present, is used automatically and speeds up rendering.
  • Style. Styles with more effects and transitions take longer to render than clean-cut styles.

We don't quote a single "minutes per video" figure, because it depends on all of the above. A Proof Session is the way to see real timings on hardware like yours.

Known limitations

  • Windows only. There is no macOS or Linux version.
  • Links can arrive at low resolution. Some platforms serve downloads to tools like ARAMO at reduced quality (YouTube can limit this to 360p). ARAMO notes it in the project log. A file from your own drive always gives full quality.
  • Upscaling cannot add detail. Exporting a low-resolution source at 4K makes it larger, not sharper.
  • First launch warning. Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” the first time. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Before you buy

If you are unsure whether your machine is a good fit, request a Proof Session or ask the assistant in the corner.
